The REC has told the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC), the body set up to advise the Home Office on immigration policy, that access to the UK labour market needs to be flexible to help get the economy out of the recession.
In its response to the consultation launched by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the REC has stressed that Regulation 32 -which allows limited companies to opt out of the provisions of the Employment Agencies Act - must remain.
The REC’s 2008 Annual Complaints Report highlights its continuous crackdown on member agencies found in non-compliance with its ten point Code of Professional Practice.

It has been announced that the activities of the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA) will be phased out with procurement service responsibilities in the NHS being handled by the OGC.
